Back in elementary school my Finnish teacher wanted to give us three Finnish students a special treat, and therefore she took a trio of blushing teenagers to meet the world famous conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen.
"I need to go powder my nose", our teacher said and left us with Esa-Pekka and a great conversational icebreaker. "Sandra here is quite talented when it comes to music."
Awkward silence.
"Oh?" said Esa-Pekka.
"Yeah, school choir when I was 11", said I.
