KNITTING MY WAY OUT OF HERE

Private online message to me from him: "I thought only passive women knitted. You don't seem to be the passive type?"

Reply from me to him: "Like the girl in Lost In Translation I knit to feel like I produce something in life, to not feel like a human waste. I knit my way out of depression."

Reply from him to me: "...coming to think of it, Oddyseus' wife Penelope, when she's waiting for him to come back from wherever he was, and has all these men waiting around trying to marry her... she's busy 'knitting' this tapestry, and she says she will marry one of them when she finishes her tapestry. So she knits all day, and then un-knits all night, for years, so the tapestry is never finished."
